Lumber Yard Board Feet Measurements

Yes. For example the walnut was 25/32, 9" wide, 62" long.

My math:

1x9x62=558

558/144=3.875 which rounds up to 4bf

I used to buy lumber in IL before I lived here. Each species was marked with the price per bf and each board had the number of bf written on it. It was very transparent.

Your math is correct.  The error you're dealing with there is what I would classify as "egregious."  I would be addressing that, no doubt...the problem is you already left the yard.  Next time give yourself more time so you can deal with those issues before you get home.

Agreed 100%..  You have to call BS when it's happening.   I had to do that with my dealer early on and haven't had that issue since.
