Pair o' Nightstands

Thanks fellas.  It's a nice treat when I finish an original piece and I can't really find anything to complain about.  I'm a little bored with myself at the moment but I am happy with them.

What did you use for a finish?

I bet your first guess is a winner. :)

Those chicken bone drawer pulls are the bees nees! Nice job!

That's funny...as I was shaping them, "bony" was exactly the word that came to my mind.  Thanks man.

The attention to detail is spectacular. Are these for you or a commission?

I don't take commissions.  Life's too short for all that mess. ;)

Nice looking nightstands! Now you have a place for the things that go into nightstands... Whatever that may be.

Lube.  That is all.

You used mahogany stain? That's weird

Banned.

Sure made the grain on that yellow pine pop!

Banned.

Did you make 16d nail holed filled with epoxy to get that imitation birds eye?

Double secret banned.

Y'all better watch your step or I'ma start dishin' out points.  Defiling my work with words like stain, pine, nails...should be ashamed of yourselves. :D

Been looking forward to seeing these since you mentioned them. You didn't disappoint. They look awesome. The dovetails are hand cut right? They came out flawless.

How did you do the pull joinery? Do the bridle while everything is square and then shape after assembly? What did you use to shape them? What a nice detail they add.

Great job.
