treeslayer
here's some pictures of two hope chests i made, the cherry one was made in 2000 and the walnut one was done today . the walnut one has dovetail corners that i used a 1 1/4 radius bit on and also on the top. the cherry one was meant to resemble a steamer trunk ( round top, last on the ship and first off in the old days) poly on the cherry and ARS on the walnut, 3 coats gloss and 2 coats satin, they were for oldest and youngest daughters college graduations.

treeslayer
thanks for the great comments guys, I really like to build everything but I think hope chests are my favorite thing to build. The cherry one was extra special because I cut that tree down myself and had it milled and dried, a long process but worth the results.
