wouldwurker
I started this one some time ago and it's been in my 'unfinished projects pile' since. Finally got back to it tonight.
kevinmallick
Looks great! Can't wait to see the finished product. This looks intimidating to me. I have lots of respect for the detail work this requires.
..Kev
Looking great! Will you be adding this to another piece or will it be a stand alone? Will be awesome either way!
wouldwurker
I'd like it to be on a box top, but that might buy me another 12 months
TerryMcK
Very good Vin. It'll look great on a box top.

Brendon_t
Sweet man, my rose is also stalled and sitting in a box under the drill press. I'll finish it some day.

wtnhighlander
Pretty sweet, Vin! Did you design it yourself, or work from a pattern? And did you color some of those pieces?
..Kev
Super cool! Nice job on the head! What did you use for the blue/green spot?
wouldwurker
Did you design it yourself, or work from a pattern? And did you color some of those pieces? From a pattern - The only dyed veneer is the green for the leaves. What did you use for the blue/green spot? Ha! That's just the mat showing through the hole. ..Kev
It's a self-healing mat. It can't be destroyed! Yep, I use them quite often. My wife is a quilter and gets mad at me when I cut stuff on her matts.
Brendon_t
It's a self-healing mat. It can't be destroyed! Now that is pretty awesome. Sure beats using a piece of plywood backing for cutting cloth.
wouldwurker
Cutting and gluing all finished. Once I figure out my final substrate to which I'll glue it, I'll sand and oil. Can't wait to see all my grain choices pop.

wouldwurker
I once cut a self healing mat into 5 pieces and scattered them about the house. ...next morning, the mat was intact on my workbench. It's the necronomicon of marquetry.
