Tom King
Scroll down on the "structural" page on my website past the beam hewing, starting with 1851 Glen Ivey. http://historic-house-restoration.com/structural.html Currently waiting on Cypress to make the new Fascia out of, but we have plenty of other work to do on the house. We have all the sash out, and are removing all the paint, reglazing, and will get them working properly again. They are the earliest double hung windows around these parts. Every other average early to mid 19th Century house has single hung windows in these parts. I do know of some double hungs a couple of hours away, but they are in an old Governor's home. wtnhighlander
Pretty slick, Tom! I love to see old buildings rejuvinated that way, rather than torn down for cheap new construction.
..Kev
Yea, very cool site! I'd of spent a lot more time there if I weren't at work
Janello
Really neat stuff! Looks like a lot of fun, but seriously labor intensive.
wdwerker
Nice to see an old house getting fixed so it can last for years to come ! Great solutions to the long list of deficiencies !
Tom King
Cypress shingles are going back on the roof. Hip ridges will be fantailed, and chimney crickets will have swept valleys. It'll probably be this Fall before we start on that.
