Popular Post Willin
After a larger piece by the designer and architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh, part of the furnishings of his whole-house project Hill House, in Helensburgh, Scotland, circa 1904. I might have the date wrong. The 3D model was done in Sketchup and is up on the 3D Warehouse. This one is 22d x 60w x 29h and is in rift white oak, stained a light cherry, then brushed and wiped with two to four coats of Minwax Antique Oil Finish. Dominos of various sizes used for the joinery, but the drawerbox was dovetailed by saw and chisels, my first piece done this way. I practiced with white pine until I learned to get it right, then did it.

wdwerker
Seems like I remember a similar Mackintosh design and the builder inserted little squares of stained glass in the holes. It was done so they could rearrange the colors or remove them totally. I liked the results !Very nice piece of furniture !
