Bandsawn Box with Pyrography

Warning - this is not that cool. You may recall that my buddy opened his own coffee shop 'Endgrain Coffee Bar'. Figured I'd make him something out of endgrain...which happened to be a failed cutting board taking up space, made of (gasp) poplar and (puke) red oak....Actually my first project ever, and what got me into woodworking 18 months ago. I finally tried out the ol wood burning pen...and free-handed his logo...poorly b4fda9cb63dfce922a73d5b5b5b74d92.jpg. It's an espresso scoop and an ax. (Reminds me of the hammers from the Wall) It's also my first crack at a bandsawn box...kind of a salt cellar design. Well, you don't see many end-grain flipped bandsawn boxes...so at least there's that 3f812a4948cb80fbf5fa25cf0adaa36c.jpgc698544bb5d839bf9c75053bee9f9614.jpg06c0a73158522570b7b54d508e3dd322.jpg Magnets from K and J Magnetic faf3b23575cb4491b3e5bbcb5990db7d.jpg7c15bfcf6fbb4df87d16a32250d936a4.jpge66697c4c2b36c974504a47390cc3314.jpg
