wtnhighlander
Anyone ever heard of such? I had lunch today, at the Aquarium Resturant in Nashville, TN. All the tables were surfaced with this incredible burl veneer stuff. Our table was 4' x about 30", using a bookmatched set, about 48" x 15". Seeing that ALL the dining tables were similar, I could not bring myself to believe the place would have spent what I expect is a ridiculous amount for them. So, am I mistaken about what such huge veneers might cost, or is there some "secret recipe" out there for laminating ply in such a way as to create a "burl-esque" (like that bit of word play?) surface? Sorry, no photo. Typical hide-the-food, fancy eating joint lighting (aka very dim) prevented the camera from capturing anything other than a dark blur or flash glare. I do believe the material is actually wood, in some form, the texture indicating it was not just a photo print on the surface.
wdwerker
Yep, veneer only. Want a sheet and some scraps ? Just come get it. It's been rolled in a cylinder for a couple years. I'll look at the name tomorrow, maybe remeber to take a picture. Take a look at Brookside Veneers, Braewood line has several engineered burl designs. www.veneers.com Edited August 4, 2015 by wdwerker Added more info

Brendon_t
This entire thread is null and void...Major breach of protocol. No pictures of said table = it didn't exist. No table= no burl laminate=no thread to discuss. .
