Just Bob
Kev do you do this full time? You're like a freakin woodworking ninjaI am going with the ninja thing. Yesterday Kev was kind enough to give me a shop tour, which is very cool by the way. Thanks again! When I left around 11:30 the "simple" desk was in pieces, the chair seat was uncarved, and the cutting board unfinished. Kev, as great as these look in pictures, in person, they are inspiring!

Eric.
Kev is on the road a lot...by the time he gets home he's a little backed up. Which means he has a tendency to finish quickly the first couple projects he tackles when he returns. Ahem.

Brendon_t
Ninja, I like it. Great work kev. I've got one I need to do with the initials A C in it.
..Kev
The C would be difficult but, not impossible.. Just use a thinner lamination strip.
xxdabroxx
OK, how did you do the "A"? I'm confused.
..Kev
OK, how did you do the "A"? I'm confused. 3 additional cuts once the board was done.I cut the left side first and reglued up with the strip in, then the right side, and then the cross. 7 total glue ups for that board. xxdabroxx
Ahhh so it goes all the way through. Like a bent lam. I was thinking it was laminated to the top and sides.
..Kev
Ahhh so it goes all the way through. Like a bent lam. I was thinking it was laminated to the top and sides. That's exactly what it is, a bent lamination. Goes all the way thru and looks the same on both sides.. I can dig up some pics of the process if you'd like to see it? If you want more stripes, make more cuts. If you don't get a clean cut off your band saw, then use a pattern and flush trim.
-MattK-
And then sand it flush? I can't wait to try that! thanks for sharing!!
