Brendon_t
Recently I purchased a few new, thick plate scrapers because my old cheap ones were about soda can thin. With these scrapers, I feel much more comfortable pulling it toward me at a downward angle while holding it in a nice curve. Is there anything inherently wrong with that practice? Eric.
Nope. I usually feel like I have more control and a finer touch when I'm pushing...and it's more comfortable for me that way, but I do pull on occasion. Do whatever works for you. Immortan D
I always push, apply pressure with the thumbs.
Mick S
I push when I can, pull when I have to.
wtnhighlander
I scrape either way. Wait, that didn't sound right ...
Tom Cancelleri
I push the majority of the time, I bought a scraper holder which is great for when I'm doing big panels or large pieces. I pull when I'm doing inside curves.
..Kev
Push..
Pete Staehling
I do either, but pull more often than push.
Trip
Push for control. Pull for inside corners/edges of casework.
Coop
I bought the Woodpecker one time scraper years ago. One side is for pulling and the other side for pushing.
TerryMcK
I push as it's easier to create the bend in the scraper with the thumbs. But sometimes if trying to scrape into a corner you have to pull. So if you find it more comfortable pulling then do it.
