estesbubba
I bought the Festool TS 55 REQ because my circular saw test cut on my Roubo top sucked. Of course I knew it would be great for sheet goods but discovered today it will also be good for ripping rough boards. Had a couple pieces of walnut I wanted to remove the sapwood on the face. Normally I would draw a line, cut on bandsaw, then take several passes on the jointer to clean up the bandsaw rough rip. Decided to try the track saw, laid the track to cut of sapwood, didn't even clamp it, ripped away and all was needed was light pass on jointer. I can see this being a nice time saver to get straight edge on rough boards. What other uses of you use your track saw for?
Cochese
Oh yeah, one of those nice little perks.
-MattK-
...didn't even clamp it...biggest surprise to me was the "no need to clamp" - I bought those clamps that attach to the bottom of the rail and rarely use them. Even cut corrugated metal roofing last year without clamps.

Tom Cancelleri
When I built a cabinet for the shop I had to take off some of the face frame to get it to fit due to the wall being all sorts of messed up. Turned the cabinet on the back, track saw to the reduce. I also used it to cut slabs. It's fantastic Sent from my 831C using Tapatalk
