wouldwurker
It wasn't supposed to be an evil clown.... Actually it was supposed to be a quite elegant 9th anniversary present for my wife. Evidently when I free handed it, some deep dark part of me created this terrifying pattern instead. Wood is ganged up 8/4 soft maple with a bit of figure. wdwerker
I can sort of see the evil slant. Keep posting so we can see how it turns out.

wouldwurker
Let's see if my 1/4 proforce blade can handle the radius'es....coupled with my lack of bandsaw skills

wouldwurker
My bravado got the better of me on some of these curves, leaving some pretty thin maple left...might be a lot of CA glue in this box by the time it's done. Maybe I'll use it to store CA glue :) I forgot to cut the front off the 'eyes' drawer before hogging out the drawer...doh! Think I have a trick up my sleeve for the off cut though...might involve 'floating it in epoxy (a la Kev) in what was to be the 'eye' drawer space...maybe the epoxy might have some of those wacky minerals that duckkisser mailed me...hell...why not. Gluing up.

wouldwurker
Repairs made and drawers fitted. Here's where I went terribly wrong. When I cut the entire box...every cut...my bandsaw table was tilted about 5 degrees. You can imagine how that affected my drawer fit....hence a lot of rasp work. https://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/09/17/0028f8340d28a461d81c85658a396f78.jpghttps://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/09/17/47b8a7103f34506fa30cd42260498d5e.jpg]

wtnhighlander
Dude, that's awesome! Plan to use 2 knobs on the top drawer, and a tongue-like pull tab on the bottom drawer? ?

wouldwurker
3rd coat of finish...this time sanded in with a 500g Platin. Danish oil looks like poop on soft maple. Other pending items on the Danish Oil docket got some finish too https://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/09/29/a0f42776442c3abb6f0cc60a23fb018a.jpg]

wtnhighlander
Looks nice, Vinny. I think the 'evil clown' theme is so awesome that you should have just done it with white and red milk paint!
wouldwurker
Eyeball 'goo' and bloodshot added. West System 105, 205, paduke shavings and calcite. This is getting weird...I need to build a shaker end table or something to cleanse myself when this is done. https://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10/03/072b5d75b0a3625441d92065588c5283.jpg] Thanks to Duckkisser for mailing me a box of inlay materials.
