Strasberry
You guys identified my last plane, with no trouble and I've used all the references you supplied to try and get some info on this Plane without much luck. It is a all wood Dwights & Foster coffin plane. 9 1/2 long and 2 1/8 inches wide. The body is rough but the wedge and the blade are still pretty good. The blade says Dwights & Foster warrented cast steel! no other identifying marks left! Any ideas ?

ponderingturtle
How many of these wooden planes were made by large enough manufacturers that means identification is all that meaningful?

Strasberry
I only see a piece of firewood! Agreed on the firewood but I just had never heard of this maker. Curious about their history. Sent from my XT907 using Tapatalk

Strasberry
http://swingleydev.com/archive/get.php?message_id=174311&submit_thread=1 I had seen thus before. There is one mention of Dwight's and Foster from the 1830's & 40's in this but that's what made me want to find more! Thanks for the link!
