Pwk5017
I am probably going to be really annoying this week, but i recently picked up a bunch of random exotics at auction, and i would like to identify them before storing them for future projects or selling them. Should be a good education for me, because i am lacking in the wood ID department. Ok, first up is this slab that is made up of 3-4 laminated boards. I wiped it down with mineral spirits to bring out the color and grain hoping that would help. My guess is I have bubinga.
Vyrolan
While the broad shots can be helpful, the crazy expert wood id people always ask for close up high res shots of the end grain... Try to include one if your camera can take a decent one.
-MattK-
I'm not a wood expert but that certainly looks like bubinga to me.

Eric.
Yeah, no end grain shot necessary on that one. It's bubinga.

Immortan D
And grain seems to change direction every two or so inches.
