Guest Posted September 28, 2015 Report Share Posted September 28, 2015 I am going with soft maple or alder because 90% of commercial cabinets with a light tone are those species. Maybe birch. Really you could use any light wood with nondescript grain. The color is from the finish, not the wood itself. It is likely a pigmented top coat.
