Cutting Plastic

I have a 1/4 inch 6tpi hook tooth blade on my bandsaw and was wondering if I would have any success cutting plastic with a blade like this.  Specifically the plastic that football helmets are made of.  I make a couple of awards for a high school football coach each year where I cut a helmet in half and mount each half to a large plaque to make the awards.  In the past I have cut the helmet in half using my Bosch hand held jigsaw but now that I have the bandsaw I thought it would be easier using it, if this blade will work.

Well this worked out really well with the blade I had.  As a precaution I did run some blue tape over the cut incase there was some chipping but after doing it I don't think it was necessary.  Like I said before, I do the every year as one of the awards I make for a High school coach.  This photo is from a couple of years back, but it shows the end result.
