Popular Post rmartuszewski
This is a sign I made, and finished. Wife did wood burning before finish, and she painted the fish on top the finish. Was a sign for a guy for his backyard, to have next to his boat. Just a simple fun thing on the cheap.
wtnhighlander
Nice sign! Did you route the letters before burning them? I've never seen burned edges so clean and crisp!
..Kev
Very cool!
rmartuszewski
NO routing of letters. Printed letters on 8.5x11" paper in printer. The used carbon paper to trace letters on wood. Wife has steady hand lol. Then she filled in with burning.

el capitán
Thank you, guess no one likes my kitchen island I made lol.I read that thread I don't think its that they don't like it, most of the post I read say it looks great. The part about trapping solid wood in a frame is just them letting you know how things need to be done to prevent issues in the future. Don't take it personally they are just trying to let you know that they see a problem that you didn't know about. I agree the sign is sick the painting is so life like.

Al Capwn
Very cool - good synergy between you and the Mrs, certainly makes for more versatile pieces to be made.Thank you, guess no one likes my kitchen island I made lol.I actually loved the kitchen island; I like the look of the epoxy gloss on dark walnut. As mentioned though, it is accident waiting to happen when framing solid woods with solid woods without allowing for movement. Try to salvage it if you can and let us know what the results are.
