carbonman Posted January 1, 2016 Report Share Posted January 1, 2016 Just stumbled onto this site. Very creative and talented members. Beautiful work. I am a life time wood worker. Raised third hand to the man who could build anything. When 8th grade wood shop rolled around, I was not much interested....I was raised in wood shop. Dad is gone now. Left me all the tools and knowledge. I live in the house he built and I was raised in. Time now for me to create my own shop and let my imagination roam. In past lives, I have worked construction in Alaska. Build houses from concrete to kitchen cabinets. Built a bunch of kitchens, hutches and small wall cabinets. In high school I built a bunch of dulcimers. Still have a few of those around. Current interest is band saw boxes. I finally have the tools to mill raw wood into beautiful things. As the apple does not fall far from the tree, functionality tends to be the primary concern in what I build. I feel a need to get away from that. Wood as a medium for art is endless.
