ChrisG-Canada
I'm taking the next week to escape from Winter. I can report, first hand, that the Dominican Republic does NOT have any snow right now ? Here's the view from my room...
TerryMcK
Search for the thread "Feet Up" Chris and add a photo with your feet up. Have a great time.
Woodenskye
As a one of the many sitting in the cold, and I probably speak for the group, I have just 2 words for You Suck! Enjoy the week of vacation and the sunshine.
Coop
You may not be the most popular person on the forum right now but certainly the most envied. But you living in the extreme cold, we shouldn't be TOO jealous! Enjoy your vacation!

wtnhighlander
Chris, it is unbelievable how lovely the DR is, while the other end of the island is so .... unpleasant.

I know, I've actually been to Haiti - 2 months before the earthquake. It's been years and it's still bad there.

wtnhighlander
My parents made several mission trips to Haiti in the 80s. It was bad loooooong before the earthquake. I used to joke about how bad it must be when the local blood services place asked "Have you EVER been to Haiti?" as a disqualifying donor screening question. Nowdays, they ask that about nearly 1/4 of the globe.

ChrisG-Canada
I'm home ? One one hand it's great to be home (and back to my shop) but on the other hand it's cold ☃ Maybe I should pack everything up and move to a Caribbean island? Think of all the interesting wood species...

Rapid Roger
Living in Kansas, it is impossible to escape weather of any kind. Weather here is just a case of "mind over matter", just make up your mind that it don't matter. (You can't change it anyway.) I live in the "TOO" state. It is too cold or too hot or too windy or too dry or too wet all the time. If you don't like the weather here, just wait a few hours, it will change.
