mustanggt
In the middle of setting up my shop. I bought a Nova Comet II. I like the versatility of this piece of equipment. Eventually I will get the extension to turn longer spindles. I like the grinder option I will also get. I had no idea where to start other than just turning down some 2x2 stock just to get my feet wet. I learned not to use something with any knots in it. Tool was jumping all over the place every time I hit that knot. I ran across one of Paul Sellers videos where he turned some tool handles which were quick and easy(for him) which made me think of all the files I had that needed handles on them. I bought a very nicely grained, straight and knotless piece of poplar. Cut it into six turning blanks and got started. I need to get some furrals to complete them but the first one went rather well and was happy with how them went. I watched some youtube videos with Alan Batty and those really helped get me going too.
minorhero
Try using some copper tubing cut into pieces for furrals
mustanggt
That's a good idea. I'll give that a try. Thanks
