Popular Post CT Proctor
I was asked to post a shop tour, so here we go . . . . The building is a 42’ x 72’ pole barn built by FBI (Farm Buildings Incorporated) with half shop and the other half storage, aka “the barn”. It has concrete floors throughout but the shop floor was raised and wood floors installed so you don't have to stand on concrete all day. This also allows room for the electric and HVAC to be run under the floor and provides some storage. The electric is 200 amp service and it has a forced air furnace. There is also a bathroom and slop sink in the shop. Most of the machinery is Powermatic and Jet. There are two table saws, an older PM66 which still runs great, and a Rockwell contractors saw that is just used for dados. The saws sit next to each other, the tops are bolted together, and use the same fence. There is also a large out feed table. Next to the table saws is an 8" PM jointer. The dust collector is a Jet DC1100. Hoses are attached to the jointer and to each table saw and run through the out feed table. I attach the DC hose to whichever machine is being used and I don't have to move the DC around. I also use a wireless remote to turn the DC on and off. Behind the table saws is a Bosch 10" glider and a Kreg fence system. The Bosch glider is an awesome saw! PM drill press, clamps, and a Hegner scroll saw. Two shop made router tables and a Jet shaper. We have an older Delta shaper in there too that is not hooked up. If you are close make me an offer, you might get a good shaper at a great price. 4’ x 8’ assembly table, 20" PM planer, Jet 22-44 drum sander, air compressor which is piped around shop and barn, horizontal boring machine, Jet spindle sander, PM belt/disc sander, and PM band saw. The big red cabinet has all of the hand held power tools in it. I recently moved the wood lathes into a separate room. This made room for the big assembly table. I was tired of building things on the TS out feed table, every time I had to make a cut everything had to be moved off and then moved back, that got old. In the barn section there is a plywood storage rack and a spray booth. The spray booth actually belongs to my good buddy Dustin (dcustoms) on here. He was moving his shop and had no place to put it, I would not have been a good friend if I had not offered to “hold” it for him. Thanks for reading and let me know if you have any questions.
wareaglewoodworker
I love that vintage powermatic drill press. It looks like something that belongs on the console of the TARDIS.

Brendon_t
That's quite a shop. What do you primarily build?

What kinds of projects do you typically build? Too bad I don't have the space for a shaper or I might take you up on it. It is strictly a hobby shop. Build cabinets, furniture, or whatever. Next is a pool cue rack for my brother.
Chet
Thats a real impressive space CT. I am not sure I could handle that type of space, I would be spinning circles trying to figure out what to do with it all.
