thunder86
Trying to square my miter saw it's barely off a bit but the teeth of the blade seem to be throwing me off getting in the way of the square. Is there any different method to square it up other than using a square?
JosephThomas
I usually lock the saw arm all the way down and reference the square off of the face of the blade rather than the teeth. Just rotate the blade a little by hand until the square fits between the teeth at the front of the blade...
Ronn W
I assume that you are squaring the blade to the fence and not the blade to the table. Consider this: Take flat piece of mdf with one good, straight edge. This mdf will lay flat on the base with the good edge against the fence. Draw or scribe a line one the surface of the mdf exactly perpendicular to the good edge. Place or clamp that mdf to the base and align the scribe line with the blade. Lower the arm of the saw until the blade almost touches the mdf and pull the blade out and push it back in while watching how well it tracks on long the scribe line. Adjust if necessary until you are happy that the blade follows the line perfectly. This should get you very, very close. As a final test cut a scrap piece and check it with a square.
