Chestnut
Waiting for the new table saw still. While i wait to distract myself it'd be interesting to know how the community passes time while waiting for a new tool? I like to wait patiently staring at my phone or updating the shipment tracking every 2-3 min. I usually pace or clean the shop when i do make it home from work.
Pwalter5110
I ordered a supermax drum sander Friday. I have checked my email for shipping information at least 30 times hoping to see a delivery date! This made my laugh.
Chestnut
My saw has been on order since December 27th at aproximately 12:15pm CST, or is it daylight time? I think it's daylight time so make that 12:15 PM CDT.
Popular Post woodbutcher74
While I was waiting for my bandsaw and jointer I went to Grizzly's site and memorized the manual. That way I wouldn't have to waste time flipping through it when I could start the assembly
Tom Cancelleri
I read the manuals online, watch videos on the tool to familiarize myself with it, make space for the tool for when it arrives.
shaneymack
I eat as much as i can in one sitting and then go to sleep untill it arrives. No way i can be conscious for that kind of excitement. When i wake up days or weeks later, the tool is there and I am a little skinnier. Win, win. This is pretty much my M.O. too.
xxdabroxx
So what saw did you get?
Eric.
How about build something? If you're that bored you can come do my work for me so I can get some shop time.
rodger.
I was without a jointer for a while when mine was arriving from what felt like Jupiter. I did a project by hand, and that took a while!
Chestnut
I read through the manual, that just made me more impatient. Shop reorganized. I do have a few things that i need to build that came up recently. I should have taken a vacation somewhere while i waited but saving for the saw was hard enough. Cliff
Easy, order other tools/toys. That way there is always something waiting for me in the mail when I come home.
Coop
3 hours of Victoria Secret commercials are a good distraction.
..Kev
I did woodworking before ordering the new tool so, why stop?
TerryMcK
I just work on a guitar or a piece of furniture. There's always things to do around the shop like pushing a broom or sorting out a screw jar.
