drzaius
I'm fortunate (or maybe unfortunate) to have a Lee Valley less than 5 minutes from work. I love the place.
Chestnut
Thanks, there was something from the valley i needed to buy. Edit. I HAD to resist the temptation to buy the full spoke-shave set though .... the want is strong.

Chet
I received an order from them earlier this week and in the box was their new catalog. I have several pages dog eared with items for their next free shipping. Guess it is going to be sooner than later.
Tom Cancelleri
I've got my "Purchase later" cart up up. I've got a few things I could use.
mkrusen
I always like to hear what people get from LV. Their website has so many layers, I find new stuff I didn't know they had every time I visit the site.
Immortan D
I ordered some tools from Highland Woodworking a couple of weeks ago. I noticed they carry a lot of Veritas tools but none of their planes. I wonder why.
estesbubba
Lee Valley doesn't let any of their resellers carry their planes. I was talking to the guy from Craftsman Studio last week and he told me this when I asked why he didn't carry LV planes.
Chestnut
I like LV but their website is terrible. I bought a 50" aluminum straitedge, i feel like i can never get Things strait. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk

Chestnut
What their website it's pretty hard to navigate. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
drzaius
You think? I can mostly find what I want within a few seconds & if not, just use the search feature. Maybe I spend too much time there:)

Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk I do find their website is overly taxonomized. I tend to do a google search for the item I want i.e. "Lee Valley Smoothing Plane"
Chestnut
The strait edge comment was because i spent 20 min trying to find it with their search and the links. I resorted to Google. Some parts are ok but I'd definitely do things different. Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk

Maybe we get a much better version of the website in Canada , thats why we pay so much more for everything. I think it's one of the better sites. Try selecting the country at the top of the page. I think it's the same for both though except we get to pay 3x as much. But sometimes you just don't know where they will have an item categorized. This is particularly true of hardware. Like I said, a google search usually helps me find what I need. I do think the site is organized, perhaps just so organized that if you don't know where to look for something it can be hard to find. estesbubba
I just use their iPad app to flip through the latest catalog writing down the item numbers. Then I add them all to my cart, about crap when I see the total, then delete anything I don't think I'll use in the next five years. Then I repeat the same process for the next free shipping event. PS - adding the 'gh' to 'strait' will get you more results.
Chestnut
I'm an engineer not an english professor ... Spelling is lost on me. It doesn't make sense either our technical terms can be really difficult. I think their organization must just agree with some more than others.
