Alan G
Has anyone used any of the General Finishes Exterior 450 products? Either the stains or the clear varnish? Curious how they hold up. Also how the clear varnish would compare to something like Epifanes. I have some cedar Adirondack chairs I made a few years back that need refinishing and am trying to decide what to do with them. I had originally put some TPF on them and it did not hold up. Going to go more film finish this time. Either the CPES & Epifanes route or try something like the GF 450 Exterior product. Thanks!! TerryMcK
I have used Exterior 450 on several outdoor projects and also on a pair of bathroom vanities. After 5 years the vanities, albeit inside, are still in great condition just like new in fact. They do get splashed with water. External projects still look ok after 4 years with no cracking or peeling. It has UV inhibitors in it. All in all I think Exterior 450 is very good. Alan G
Good info Thanks! Those outdoor projects that you have them on...do they sit outside all year? What kind of weather do you get over there? There will be times that these will be under snow.
TerryMcK
Yes outside all the time. Rain, sun, hail, ice and snow. We don't get the extremes of temperature variations you get but over a year we may see lows of 15F and highs of mid to high 80s with averages of about 65F to 75F in the summer.
