Popular Post Just Bob
It has been a little over 3 yrs since I started the shop build and as of today I think I can stick a fork in it. For the last 2 years I have been living with stuff shoved into shelves, boxes, and drawers, which is really tough on hand tools. This last push started in January when I partitioned the shop area from the rest of the building with a man door. Then put in a ceiling and blew in insulation. (Made all the difference, shop stays warm and cool.) At the same time I ran the ducting for the DC. Then in March my wife found a lathe for me so I had to rearrange some tools to make it work. I moved my drum sander to the opposite wall to make room for the lathe. I changed the pvc ducting from the central vac to open up some wall space so I could put the majority of my clamps in one spot, they were scattered around the shop, and then shamelessly copied @TIODS for the tool wall. As I said having my hand tools in boxes for so long was really hard on them, so I had to finish my sharpening station and then I rotated my bench 180 degrees so I am closer to the tool wall and can look out one my windows while I am pretending to work. So for now it's done. Time to work in the shop, not on it.
..Kev
Looks awesome Bob! Lots of people using a tool wall rather than a cabinet so, no shame in using a good idea. Love that bench!
