collinb
In each price point of (a) up to $500, (b) up to $650, and (c) up to $800, name the New/Current table saw models which you could recommend. In these price classes it would be either a contractor or maybe a hybrid model. Not considering jobsite saws.
Ronn W
I had a Ridgid fold-up contractors for several years. Good saw for the price especially in a limited space. About $500.
bleedinblue
Only slightly off your designated price points. $500-600 (Lowe's 10% off coupon would help, and I still hear some Home Depots will take a Harbor Freight coupon) Ridgid 4512 and the Delta from Lowe's. Alignment issues for the 4512 seem to be lessening. $650+ freight, the Grizzly 0771. $825+ freight, the Grizzly 0715P The field is pretty limited for new saws under $1000, but I think any of these would suit you just fine. Llama
yeah yeah, for the price you are not going to find a better saw than the Ridgid. Come over, I'll sell you mine.

Sometimes I wonder ... would you rather have an older top-end machine or a newer mid-range machine? For instance, a Grizzly G0771 or an older Unisaw http://columbus.craigslist.org/tld/5562380323.html?
minorhero
You can buy a used unisaw for 800 all day long off of craigslist in maryland. That is better then any new saw at that price point.
drzaius
Ya, I think you want the SawStop. You know you do.

It's got much sturdier bones underneath, and just about everything else can be upgraded when and if you feel the need.
Jason Hotze
I just bough a 1948 Unisaw for $700 and absolutely love it. This thing will plow through 8/4 maple without thinking about sputtering. I was lucky to get the Bies fence with mine but adding a good fence and the Micro Jig splitter and you just can't beat it.. midtnwoodworker
Collin I would see if I could talk them down to 650-700 for this saw. http://columbus.craigslist.org/tls/5570917215.html Or if you want to go crazy just buy this one. But tell him you will not pay a penny more than 500. http://columbus.craigslist.org/tls/5568705219.html
Tpt life
I don't buy from guys that put Jet, Sawstop, and PM in a post to draw traffic to a Grizzly. Just sayin...

Yeah, you dont buy from him, you catch the wife alone and negotiate the price with HER. She'll sell it for much cheaper.
JosephThomas
a) I have the ridgid 4512, it's been working great for me. Sells for $550, was pretty easy to get $50 off when you tell a manager you are considering buying such a large item it one of a couple places, so that puts it under your $500 mark. b)I don't think that there is anything new worth considering in this range, IMO. The cheap delta is there, but personally I'd rather go $100 cheaper for the ridgid, or $100 more for option C below. c) and the 3rd would have to be the grizzly hybrid (g0715P I think). If you want used stuff, none of this matters, just depends on what is available in your area.
