rodger.
I have a powermatic 55H 6" jointer, and i really like it. I am having an issue lately though, with the cam style lock for the fence. To lock the fence, you rotate the handle, which in turn engages the cam. The problem is the cam is not overly tight, and the fence can shift when i "bump" it while placing stock on the jointer bed. It is also easy to over rotate the handle, causing the cam to tighten, and then let go if you turn too far. Is there anyway to tighten the connection? Popular Post rodger.
Seeing as there were so many replies to this thread, I thought I would update it - LOL The problem was simple to solve. I took the fence apart, and one of the nuts underneath the fence had worked its way loose. I tightened er back up, and viola! Solved! If a future reader is having the same issue, just PM me or reply in this thread and I'll take a photo of the loose part.
