Popular Post Coop
I posted here instead of project showcase as it's more about the game than the woodworking. When mom and dad got to the age where they would rather stay at home than run the roads and go out to eat, they started playing Skip-Bo, a card game. So my wife and I, while visiting with them, instead of getting ignored, we decided to play with them. Dad made a board similiar to this from ply and qtr. round. After they passed, I made this for our family and others. More of a tribute to my parents than anything?

Woodenskye
Coop, that is really cool! I remember going to my grandparents when I was a kid and playing Skip-Bo, Uno and other card games. Always good times.
Coop
Thanks guys. For those that have never played, it's hard to keep these 5 stacks seperate, especially when playing on an uneven surface such as a couch/sofa. After dad passed, we moved mom into a place where she could continue the tradition, but the board(s) kept coming up missing from the game room and I kept building. Then friends and family kept asking for them. I saturated the market.

Yeah, I remember paying my way thru college ( back in the late sixties) playing spades. Then one day, a prof told me to leave his class for not wearing socks. Ended my college days. Wish I could remember his name?
JosephThomas
That is awesome, real simple design, well executed. I might be inclined to borrow the idea someday and make my own!
wdwerker
Interesting solution to keeping the decks neat and separated . Great that the game and board remind you of fond memories.

TerryMcK
A great project Ken. I've never heard of Skip-Bo either but can now understand the concept.
