Lulu86
I got myself in a sticky situation. Does anyone knows the trick how to make these handles and which router bits to use? thank you
wdwerker
Most likely a bearing on the router bits shank rides against a template that you would clamp to the door. Finding that pattern bit just means browsing through lots of bit charts.
Lulu86
Thank you. That's what I was thinking , I just thought someone here might know which bit would be the best. I've been lookin for a while.
wdwerker
If you are trying to match a manufactured product they could have had the bit custom made. The profile looks like an upside down raised panel bit. I know Whiteside makes custom bits for pretty reasonable prices.

wdwerker
Take a look at Amana #47513 bit . Then you would need to find a bearing to fit over the shank of the bit and a collar with set screws to keep it in place might be a good idea as well. Or maybe you could use something like loctite to keep it in place. Practice on scrap is a good idea. You might need to make the cut in multiple passes. Trying to cut it all in one pass could cause burning, tearout or just overload your router. Oh by the way welcome to the Forum ! Stick around, maybe you can contribute to the discussions.
