TerryMcK
This thing puts out 3.6 million pounds of thrust and lights up at Mach 3! Some machine. The test is being streamed live on the internet later today June 28th 2016 (details in the video)
RichardA
Yeah, but it really sucks in the quarter mile!
TerryMcK
11:05 EDT - about 2 mins from time this was posted! If you've not seen it live on Nasa TV look for the re-runs
prov163
So cool. I'm old school and miss the amazing work of NASA. People have no idea how much better their lives are today as the result of the innovations of a wonderful collection of geeks, engineers, scientists and dreamers. America had lots of problems in the 60's, war, racial strife, immigration issues, the Cold War, and we managed to put a man on the moon. Voyager is still sending signals from beyond our galaxy. The Space Shuttle program was so successful for so long that it became "ho-hum" for most people. I can't wait for the first long-range space flight tests in prep for going to Mars. Sorry, guess that's too much geekdom in one paragraph.
