Opinions on Uniplane

Makes me cringe but, a lot of the things I do make other people cringe.  If you are familiar with the tool and use the established safety methods, all should be well.  So the edge quality is reliant on the miter gauge or is the stock resting against the cutter supposed to be part of the guiding system?

I saw a demo way back in the day. They were able to trim the end of matchstick sized pieces . I even considered getting one but they weren't on the market that long. Limitations on size and length was what made me hesitate . Seems like I remember it wasn't cheap either.
