Popular Post galturner
I have been lurking for awhile and have enjoyed seeing ya'lls projects. I made these shaker oval boxes years ago, but they sure are fun to make, so I thought I'd share them. Maple, cherry, walnut, and painted.

galturner
thanks all for the welcome and the comments. These are historically accurate boxes of the shaker folks who sold these from the 1700's up until I think 1956. They left us all the necessary info on sizes and thicknesses of the steambent sides and the forms one needs to bend the wood. I used no glue (historically accurate) , just wood pegs and copper tacks. I would think there are Youtube videos out there, and lots of info if ya'll google it up.
