Ryan Grondin
I just got one of these curve templates as a gift, I haven't used it yet, Usually when I need to draw a curve, I use a piece of luan, or plexiglass strips. Does anyone use these? and if so how do you like it?
Immortan D
Can't see the whole thing from your pic, but maybe it's a bit over engineered? I just use a makeshift bow for large curves.
mat60
Something seems a bit backwards here..
Ryan Grondin
Definitely over engineered lol.
Immortan D
It is, but now it makes more sense since you can set up wave curve.
Ryan Grondin
Yes that is the cool thing about it, I usually use plexiglass strips for similar curves, but this will hold a lot easier, they also make longer ones.
Woodenskye
I bought a cheap set of blinds that I use if I need to draw an arc or a curve. They are flexible enough for most things.

mds2
I wish I had one of those. Where do you get them?
Elroy Skimms
On a whim, I once tried using vinyl arched corner bead for drywall. It worked like a charm. Very flexible and the corner provided a great place for the router bit bearing to ride along. Cheap too, and easy to cut for different lengths. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Gibraltar-Building-Products-10-ft-Vinyl-Arched-Drywall-Corner-Bead-10513/202093127 -E
Immortan D
It's not that hard to build your own if you really need something like this. I built my own equi-lateral dividers a while ago (with help from @TerryMcK) and this jig requires a similar process:
Tom Crawford
I use these http://www.leevalley.com/US/wood/page.aspx?p=44631&cat=1,42936,50298 They work very well.

I keep meaning to pick one of those up, but inevitably forget until I need to draw the curve right then and there. I have a thin strip of hardwood with two holes drilled near the ends that are pulled together with twine. It works, but it doesn't exactly have the easiest adjustment.

Popular Post Coop
That is a pretty cool deal. I married one with better curves but that was a while back?
Don Z.
The one thing at which those excel, at which no other methods compare is transferring a curve. Suppose you are building a boat. You have a lofting right there, a drawing of the boat full size. You need to transfer the midship frame from the lofting to the mold you are about to install. Use that to match the curve. Tighten the wing nuts. Pick it up, move it to where it's needed, and trace. Start cutting and planing. Beats nails on the loft floor any day.

Ronn W
Mat, Not sure what you mean, I don't have one. I just like the idea. If Lee Valley has it, I would think that it is a good product.
mat60
I was thinking the price is right and I think it would be nice to have..Saw Dust and Tom have one so it must be good...Like to see someone using one..Also I had also misread your post..LOL
gee-dub
A real advantage over a fairing stick is the concave and convex angle simultaneously locked into position.
