Popular Post 21meyer
First of all, thank you to this great community for all the knowledge you share. Kudos to those of you that take the time and effort to document project journals. I have learned an incredible amount since joining the forum. These two cribs and the changing table were built for our twin daughters. We moved to our current home last December and my wife was due in April. I thought I would have time to get my shop set up along with other moving responsibilities but our girls decided to show up early and were born January 2nd at 26 weeks. They spent 90 days in the NICU, and on April 1st we were able to bring them home for the first time. My hat is off to those of you that are involved in, or have spouses involved in the healthcare fields. I travel every week for my current position and every waking moment that I was in town was spent at the hospital. This left very little time to accomplish any woodworking or shop setup. My wife has been an absolute rock star in allowing me some shop time to work on these projects. Who knew that two infants with health challenges were such a handful? A good friend and I harvested, and milled the walnut lumber about two years ago. All of the pieces are finished with Arm-R-Seal. This was an amazing learning experience full of mistakes but I’m glad I was able to complete them before their 18th birthdays. I wish I had spent more time on grain matching and orientation. Thank you to bleedinblue for answering my questions regarding the finish. The changing table is my simplistic design and the cribs are Wood Magazine plans. The cradle that holds the changing pad is only attached via two walnut ‘L’ brackets so it will be easily removed and turned into a shelf as soon as we are done with dirty diapers. I apologize for the poor quality photos. I am a far cry from even a mediocre hobbyist photographer and the room is too small to capture everything in one shot.

RichardA
Ya done real good. The rug rats are gonna take more time from you and the shop, but it will be worth every second!
Mick S
Really nice job! And congrats on the new additions to the family. The projects I made for my kids and those of my friends have been some of my very favorites over the years.
