They gave me fits for years, but I finally found windsor and shaker designs to be my favorites. This one was very challenging because one wood chairs were rarely made. Most had pine seats, with hickory, oaks or ashes for legs, etc. Cherry is not a great bending wood and gave me fits. But all in all I did get the hang of it, and made a set for my dining room. I remember the opening scenes of The Patriot where Benjamin Martin (Mel Gibson) is making a rocking chair. He sits in it and carefully rocks it. He smiles, then it collapses. He gets up and throws the chair. It lands in a pile of other failed rocking chairs you don't see until it lands. Funny but apropos. Beautiful work. How about pictures of the table to go with it?
