Popular Post mbrockman5
I finally finished my Live Edge Mantel. 15½ foot long, 17 inch wide and 4 inch thick Redwood Slab with Watco dark walnut Danish Oil and topped with Arm-R-Seal. This thing was a beast getting it up there. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk This is what it looked like before. wdwerker
Great looking mantle ! Someone should be hung out to dry for painting all that stone. Must have been an interior desecrater !
mbrockman5
Do not even get me started on that horrible mistake. That was the previous owners but trust me... that is definitely on my Future Projects list.... Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

wtnhighlander
I bet your wife said "That's nice, honey. Can you take out the trash now?" Lovely mantel! I imagine it was a beast to wrestle into place.
mbrockman5
Thanks everyone. I really appreciate it. My mother in law loved it so much that we went and picked out a slab so I could make one for her fireplace.... Luckily it'll only be 6' long this time. mbrockman5
I forgot to mention... After we took a step back to look over the finished mantel, my wife and I decided that I should remove the existing white shelves in the bookcase and make some Live Edge shelves to replace them with.
