You can always check out "The Man Who Made Things From Trees" by Robert Penn.. An Englisman searches for the right ash tree, cuts it down, then tries to see how many useful things can be made from the tree. The name is a little misleading since most of the objects are made by other people, but still a fun read.

Southern California has the most beautiful weather, and people on the face of the earth. Only place that even compares is South Beach in Florida.

We have weather here? Last time I checked, it was either hot, or less hot.
