Brandi
Work for a painter and one of the guys power washed to deep leaving lots of lines from hitting wood to close so they sanded the lines and fanned em out and we then put stain on it and it left it looking like this. I am not sure how to fix it so stain evens out. If anyone knows of a product besides wood conditioner to try please any advice is welcome

sheperd80
Hard to see the problem in that pic, it doesnt look bad to me. But from what youre saying i think you would have to evenly resand the whole thing to get the stain even. shaneymack
Guys, zoom in on the picture, the stain is wicked blotchy. Sent from my SM-N910W8 using Tapatalk
drzaius
I wonder if media blasting the whole thing with something fairly gentle would take care of that. A side effect would be that it would bring out more of the grain texture (maybe desirable, maybe not).
wtnhighlander
I feel that taking it to bare wood is the only sure way. Any product applied at this stage will absorb into the bare spots differently than the original stain.
AceHoleInOne
I don't see the issue. Perhaps the best thing to do is forget about it until next year. It should mellow out. What did the painters say to you? Next year start the process over and use deck brightener then power wash off. Or change the color and go darker? -Ace-
