Popular Post rodger.
I made a larger bedroom table a while back, and i shared it in another project showcase post. This large bedroom table is on my wife's side of the bed/room. Currently I place my phone, glasses, etc my wife's table, which is too far! I have to get up to get my glass of water, check/charge my phone, get my glasses, etc. So I decided to make "little brother" for my side of the bed/room. The design is pretty much identical, but scaled to fit the smaller piece. Table is made from white maple, and is finished with 3-4 coats of General HP water borne poly (applied with HVLP). The legs taper from about 1.5" to 0.75". I wanted a clean, modern, feel. I kept the edge profiles simple - just a classic bead on the apron and i broke all other edges with a block plane. I also really like the look of waterborne poly on white maple - nice and clean! Here is a rough sketchup of the the design: And the finished piece: -pug

wtnhighlander
Love the design, Pug! Are these photos AFTER finish is applied? It look flat as freshly sanded raw wood! Can't get much more 'natural feel' than that!

I took them with my phone, at night. Not great photography I'm afraid.

JosephThomas
Good job, I love the simplicity. Sometimes simple is harder to design.

gee-dub
Nice clean lines. Beautifully executed. Waterborne finishes on lighter colored woods provide a nice clean look.

I have a branding iron, so I branded it on the bottom. I don't date my work, but I prob should start doing so.

rodger.
Nope, two 30mm no 5 dominoes on each side (elongated hole setting on the shelf, standard setting on the end stretcher).
xxdabroxx
Looks good, I like the clean lines. Might have to steal this idea a bit someday when I build myself a couple nightstands. I might want a drawer though.

I debated a drawer, but then the apron would need to be much wider to allow the drawer to be a useful size. It threw off the "feng shui" of the piece.
