rodger.
I have an Earlex, which I quite like. It's well used, and I feel like I would like a "step up" in the HVLP arena. I have been reading about the mini mite 3 (about 750 CDN) and the mini mite 4 (about 1000 CDN). The 3 will suit my regular repertoire of general HPP, but I would also like to spray latex paint on rare occasion. Has anyone sprayed latex through the mini 3? Don't really want to mess around with thinners, so if I must thin with a 3 stage, I'll just pony up for the 4 stage and be done with it. estesbubba
I have the MM 4 and can spray GF milk paint (which is actually an acrylic) full strength with the 1.8mm tip. When I was shopping I was told the MM 3 would require thinning for thicker finishes. I had the Earlex 5500 and ended returning it and got the Fuji and it's quite the step up plus you won't miss that bleeder gun!
Guest
I also have the MM4 and it is great. Obviously the MM4 will allow you to spray things like latex. The extra power also allows you to push waterbase or shellac through a finer needle, which will give you a better finish. With a 3 stage, you might need to use a 1.3mm needle for shellac, with a 4 stage you can use a 1mm or maybe even the .8mm for shellac, as an example. pkinneb
If price is not a consideration MM4 I have the MM3 and you do need to use a 1.3mm needle
