Popular Post xxdabroxx
Well as mentioned in the wall sheathing thread I went back to HD to get the last of the $8 melamine they had on clearance. I ended up with 10 sheets, I'll do one long wall and an one end wall with the majority of these and save the last ones for shop projects. So, in all its glory, the shop as it was (I had already started moving stuff around, but after the last project it was left in quite a mess): And the progress over the weekend: Day 1 Day 2 Cutting in the hole for the AC unit (My dad pictured) Day 3 Built a small clamp rack And started working on my workbench again while the GF put up the xmas tree. Well, that's all for now folks. I'll keep updating this thread as I further organize the shop.

mat60
What a difference that made and if you ever need to get into a wall you can just take some off. Much brighter shop now also.

Definitely, the AC will be great if I ever get a sub-panel in here too! The shop is currently fed off of an outlet in the master bedroom. Wiring in this old house is creative to say the least. I only have one working outlet in the shop and half of it powers my dogs underground fence. 3 minutes ago, mat60 said: What a difference that made and if you ever need to get into a wall you can just take some off. Much brighter shop now also. I was thinking the same thing, it will be super easy to add outlets later if I need too. Working on the bench last night was much nicer than before, the light carries a lot better now. Can't wait to get some more done. I think my dad is going to make me up some tube steel shelf/ wood storage brackets to mount up high. Next project will be finding a home for the miter saw and building a stand for the planer. Both are likely to happen before I get any more panels up on the walls as I need to find homes for all the things on the workbench on the end wall. It's a lot like one of those puzzles with the missing piece right now. Move that here so I can move that to there. haha
estesbubba
Insulation and white walls - both are good for your shop!
freedhardwoods
Looks really good. A nice looking shop is more inviting to work in.
Popular Post xxdabroxx
Got a start on a miter saw station on Sunday, made pretty good progress (for me) for only spending about half a day and using only the materials I had on hand. Design changed a bit when I realized I could get one big cabinet and one small one out of the sheet goods I had laying around. I started with a sketch: And got this far before I called it a day:
Popular Post xxdabroxx
Got the tops on, trying out some silicone as a holding method. I'll see how it does in the long run, currently being weighed down with heavy stuff. I left a 4" gap at the back where the saw sits for cords and dust collection, really need to get a dust deputy or something so I quit clogging up my shop vac as well as some hose and adapters to get it connected.
freedhardwoods
We use silicone to fasten bathroom counter tops. We had to go back and change a counter top once. Two guys laying inside the cabinet pushing up as hard as we could. The silicone held and ripped the corner blocks out of the cabinets.
Chet
Nice clamping system. The 735 will definitely do the trick. What happened to the blade guard on the mitter saw?

We had a bit of a disagreement and it lost the fight... Extra caution is necessary with it now.
