Popular Post Janello
Here's a corner shelf I built for my wife. We had one like it in the bedroom but it was cheap pressboard and lighter in color. We got new furniture and she liked the shelf but wanted it to match. I used the old shelf as a template and used domino's and epoxy with staples as clamps. Included a shot of the headboard so you can see my awesome color matching skillz! Sorry the bed is not made and my clothes are on the floor. That's how I roll when the wifes not looking!
Tom Crawford
Well done. You just better hope your wife does not see this posted to the world - clothes on floor and all.

I forgot to mention, I have a screw fastener under each middle plug. I hit a stud on both walls! I have no clue who's art that is.

No, I wanted to make the bedroom set, but the wife was to impatient. Now I'm glad I didn't since I have 2 other projects on the menu. One being a rather large gun cabinet. Sent from my SM-N910W8 using Tapatalk So, I'm glad you mention this. The one I took down was probably worse than Ikea brand being pressboard with dowels and coarse screws for joinery. When you picked it up (even two handed) it bent in an arch almost snapping. I used 3 small dominos (forget the size) and epoxy, with staples as clamps and it was damn near self supporting picking it up in the middle with one hand. Testament to how awesome dominos are! 2 hours ago, Woodenskye said: Nice work John! Color match is pretty spot on, did you make the headboard? No sir, as mentioned above, my wife can't wait for my snail pace. The shelf took long enough! 3 hours ago, treeslayer said: the only reason i mentioned it is because a friend of mine's wife had them all over her house, she was known for using flowers to represent "naughty bits' of the human anatomy. Your weird, that's just a flower. I have this on my other wall.
Chet
That is some assume work Jon. I would have a real challenge building something like that, it's pretty hard to find corners in my house that would be plumb and square to each other. wtnhighlander
Nice work, John! That seems to be a very funtional shelf design. I can't imagine pressboard holding together long enough to hang, though! Yours is certainly a tremendous improvement!
PlaneOleWoodWorker
Wow! My wife collects snow globes and we are trying to figure out a good way to display them. Adding this to my plan bank!
