Scott Meggison
I enjoy making my own tools and jigs. Looking for ideas for a bench dog clamp sim. to Veritas Surface Clamp. Would prefer all wood construction, but not locked in by that. Appreciate any ideas or suggestions. Thanks
Immortan D
I made one similar to the Veritas Surface Vise a while ago:
RichardA
As a fan of Paul Sellers. He has on his site [paulsellers.com] a video "An alternative to bench dogs". You might want to take a look at that. It's simple and appears to be very functional.

Scott Meggison
Got to playing around and sketching and realized I had most of the parts for what I wanted already. I took the face piece of the smaller moxon vice and drilled and tapped 2 holes in the end. I had made 3 set of threaded rod for the vices, So I used one and put it thru a bench dog hole and used wood nuts to lock it down. Drilled a 5/16 hole in another threaded rod for a handle and now I have a Holdfast for my tabletop workbench.
