rodger.
Was looking at the west systems kits. Do you guys use 205? Or 206? I'm in Canada, so hot summers and cold winters.
..Kev
Depends on your set time.. I usually use the 205 but, if I need a little more time then I use the 206.
davewyo
I mostly use the 206 because I'm ordinarily using it with exotics and I want the slower cure. It works just as well with domestics, you just have to wait over night.
Jfitz
I think most people use 205. I currently have System 3 Epoxy so I can't speak specifically about West Systems. I'd suggest you start with the 205 - which is a faster hardener but has a lower temperature requirement. It would be frustrating if your epoxy had issues because the temps were a little too low. If it gets to be an issue in hotter months, use a different hardener.
Pwk5017
Depends on what you are doing. If you are filling knots or cracks, then you want the fast one. If you are using it for a 20-30 min open time adhesive for tricky glue ups, you want the slow one. Which do you see yourself using west systems for? If you are split 50:50, i would get the slow hardener.
TerryMcK
I use both. I normally do my glue ups and leave them overnight. Never had an issue with non cure when left a few hours. 206 is generally used on applications that need longer open times - complicated glueups in other words. rodger.
Thanks for the info guys, I am leaning towards the 205 (faster of the two). Prob won't use it for full glueups very often.
