Rex Edgar
I'm using a router to hog out a rectangular opening. What can I use to square off the corners without tearing out the wood? Is there a file or rasp that doesn't have an aggressive grind?
wtnhighlander
Why not a chisel? If abrasion is preferred, sandpaper on a stick.
Coop
I saw a couple of versions of these at Rockler yesterday. http://www.rockler.com/spring-loaded-corner-chisel
Brendon_t
I would definately go with a chisel for fear of blowing out the grain with abrasion. A little too much tip forward or back could leave a nasty tear out where a chunk of the face grain pulls away.
Tony Wilkins
A high grain count (14-15) hand cut rasp by either Lioger or Auiriou?
gee-dub
I too would prefer a chisel unless your talking about plywood . . . maybe even then but, I'd use a beater. When making fret-like templates I often turn to this.
Ronn W
My first choice is a chisel worked from both sides (thin slices). Work perpendicular to the surface of the piece. Second would be a wood file with teeth all the way to the edge but no teeth on the edge.
