Popular Post rodger.
My daughter is 5, and she loves to help around the house and shop. She has some toy tools, but she has outgrown them. So this year I bought her some real tools (measuring tape, small level, shop made square, etc). I looked at some tool boxes, but they were all too heavy or just junk. So, like a woodworker does, I made one. This is made from 3/4 cherry (sides), and 5/8" maple (front and handle). Finished with 3 coats of water based poly General Finishes). Bottom is 1/4" plywood (maple). I was going to paint a letter on the front, but my wife would not let me! haha! Joinery is a simple glued rabbet on the ends of the side pieces. The bottom is trapped in a table saw kerf, and the handle is dominoed. Enjoy! -pug
Popular Post wdwerker
I'm sure she will enjoy it for many years ! I made a tote like that for my niece to carry her horse grooming tools. She still gets comments at the barn 15 years later. Sign it and date it !
