Brendon_t
I've never heard of the company. What's their story?
drzaius
Not familiar with that brand, but I sure love me some holdfasts. Amazing devices.

Popular Post RichardA
Put a piece of leather on the part the touches the wood. I use a set of old leather coasters. Works like a charm and doesn't damage your work piece.
Chet
I use small squares of scrap wood but the leather sounds like a better idea.

Barron
Go to a cobbler and ask for scraps, then use hide glue to attach to the hold fast. That way the leather is always where you want it.
Coop
Any post that has wood, hold down and leather all three in it, is destined to get off course

Yup and I have left over suede from my vises and dogs. Just checked and Crucible tool is at Handworks http://www.handworks.co/
drzaius
There's a local store that sells nothing but cow hides. They have thousands of them. I bought a small calf hide & used it to do both workbench vices & all my pipe clamps. F clamps & holdfasts are next. The leather not only cushions, but seams to provide better grip as well.
