CubsFan
I'm way behind on the wall cabinet build, so I'm just now looking at getting the material for the back of the cabinet. The cabinet is made out of blue stained pine (bunch of images here: http://www.google.com/search?q=blue+stained+pine&hl=en&prmd=ivns&tbm=isch&tbo=u&source=univ&sa=X&ei=PsDCTZryJ6eC0QGF0sTuAw&ved=0CEIQsAQ&biw=1207&bih=679 ) There's no plywood I can get for the back, so I'll need to do something else. I can just go with any random plywood and it would probably be fine, but I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas. I suppose I could plain some wood down down 1/4" and slide it in the back, but I don't think that would quite have the desired effect. Any thoughts on a good match? AMarshall
For a perfect match, how about some shop-made veneer from the blue pine? If you have a bandsaw you could try slicing some 1/16" or even 1/8" thick veneers and glueing them to some regular plywood. I bet you could get away with a 3/8" thick back with minimal changes to the design.
josephrohdes221
I think from market veneers it is easy for you to choose something of color and design you like. thanks
