wchesterpa
After reading a lot about the benefits of standing desks, I'm about to start building one. Since it's my first one I'm a little leery of setting a fixed height. Anyone got ideas/examples of some non-clunky ways to allow some height adjustment while maintaining rigidity? Thanks. Beechwood Chip
I just got my standing desk at work - yesterday was my first day. I'm the fifth person in my office to switch. A couple people have been using standing desks for about a year. So far, I can only go a couple hours standing, but I'm told that after a month or so of adjustment I'll be standing all day long. In the meantime, having a convenient way to switch back and forth from standing and sitting height is crucial. My desk is a trestle table with two telescoping legs. There's no spreader between the legs. It's all steel except for the top, so I don't know how that design would translate to wood.

Instead of a desk that can easily switch height, a common solution is to get a chair that's high enough for the standing height desk.
